Structural drying and dehumidification
Removing standing water is only the first stage. Building materials hold moisture long after a floor looks dry, so drying equipment and dehumidification are used to bring affected materials back toward normal moisture levels, with monitoring during the drying period rather than a single visit and a guess.
Moisture detection and assessment
Moisture meters and visual inspection are used to map how far the water travelled, including under flooring and behind baseboards and drywall. Documenting the moisture pattern is what determines whether a wall can be dried in place or has to be opened.
